Medieval and Renaissance Paleography Video Course

This interdisciplinary course will introduce students to the rudiments of paleography in various languages of the Middle Ages and Early Modern periods. This 9-week, one-credit, pre-recorded course will acquaint participants with major or specific handwriting from each period and will also offer, to a limited degree, discussion of other issues related to the study of manuscripts. Most classes will contain a brief workshop to equip students with some basic experience of transcription. Knowledge of each language is not required. (1 credit hour).
